Shaping State and Local Initiatives
The Smart Growth Leadership Institute works directly with towns, cities and counties and also works with states to help shape policies and initiatives that encourage smart growth.
We assist local communities, directly through our Implementation Technical Assistance programs, through our Leadership Support programs, and by providing Smart Growth Implementation Tools tools.
We work with governors and members of their cabinet through the The Governors' Institute on Community Design. The Governors' Institute helps state officials to consider policies and programs that will leverage existing infrastructure and future investments to improve the built environment and create competitive economies.
